More cutting the bonnet AND turning the engine over

Amongst other jobs the Pipercross air filter arrived and meant I could set about making a pattern of the bonnet.....

So having fitted the real bonnet and marking its seating points on the scuttle and nosecone with masking tape....

I then set about pushing the thin card onto the filter to mark out its break out points from the bonnett...

Starting small and under-estimating the necessary shape and size I once again set about the bonnet with with a jigsaw!.....

Gradually enlarging the hole until it all looks rather good....

A good point to note here is that I hadnt final fitted the filter so that if there was any error the filter could be moved to compensate and give a tidy finish.....

Also fitted the wing mirrors too ... but...
The best part of this weekends work was that I have been testing all the electrics that I have  fitted and wired so far AND..... they all work! To top it all I connected the starter and new battery and the motor engages the flywheel and turns the engine with ease..... emotional!!! :-)
