Well as well as the forums Scholar also called to explain that the remedy for the oil pick up pipe is quite simple on the later engines. Fix the two bolts to the oil pump and then gently and gradually bend it round until it lines up with the windage plate bolt. Yes it feels wrong when youre doing it but its absolutely fine. The sump is now in place.
Ive fiited the modded westfield thrust bearing and a new Zetec clutch, everything is now connected and I fabricated two blanking plates on the exposed flywheel, GBS say they leave it exposed but it doesnt feel right to me. I used some sheet aluminium and jigsaw. Job done!!
